Tuna Melt Patties

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 20 mins
Servings: 4-6 patties

Ingredients:

  • 2 (5 oz) cans tuna, drained well

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)

  • ¼ cup grated cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, pepper jack)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)

  • 2 tbsp finely diced onion (or green onions)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

  • Optional: ¼ cup diced pickles or celery for crunch

Instructions:

  1. Mix ingredients:

    • In a bowl, combine tuna, egg, breadcrumbs, cheeses, mayo, onion, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

    • If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.

  2. Form patties:

    • Shape into 4-6 small patties (about ½-inch thick).

  3. Cook:

    • Stovetop Method: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

    • Oven Method (healthier): Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 mins, flipping halfway.

  4. Serve:

    • Enjoy as a sandwich (on toasted bread with lettuce & tomato) or with a side of chips, salad, or dipping sauce (ranch, sriracha mayo, or tartar sauce).

Tips:

✔ For extra meltiness, add a slice of cheese on top while cooking.
✔ Swap tuna for canned salmon or shredded chicken for variation.
✔ Make them gluten-free with almond flour instead of breadcrumbs.

These Tuna Melt Patties are crispy, cheesy, and perfect for a quick meal! 😋🐟🧀
