Ingredients:

1 cup (240ml) milk (whole or plant-based)

1 large egg (optional, for extra richness)

¼ cup (60ml) melted butter or oil (optional, but keeps it moist)

1½ tsp (7ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Prep & Mix:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch pan or line with parchment.

Whisk dry ingredients: Flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine milk, egg (if using), melted butter/oil, and vanilla.

Combine: Pour wet into dry ingredients. Gently fold until just mixed (don’t overwork the batter).
