Steak and Shrimp Stir Fry

A sizzling, savory stir fry with tender steak, juicy shrimp, and crisp veggies—ready in under 30 minutes!


📝 Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled & deveined

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for tenderizing steak)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Stir Fry Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 tbsp sriracha (optional, for heat)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp grated ginger

Veggies & Extras

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 carrot, julienned

  • 3 green onions, sliced

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)


🔥 Instructions

1. Marinate the Protein

  • Toss steak with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside 10 mins.

  • Pat shrimp dry, then toss with 1 tbsp soy sauce and oyster sauce.

2. Make the Sauce

  • Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, hoisin, sriracha, garlic, and ginger.

3. Stir Fry

  1. Cook steak: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok/skillet over high heat. Sear steak 1-2 mins per side until browned. Remove.

  2. Cook shrimp: Add 1 tbsp oil, then shrimp. Cook 1-2 mins per side until pink. Remove.

  3. Veggies: Stir-fry bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for 2-3 mins until crisp-tender.

  4. Combine: Return steak and shrimp to the pan. Pour sauce over and toss 1-2 mins until glossy.

4. Garnish & Serve

  • Top with green onions and sesame seeds.

  • Serve over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice!

✔ Prep ahead: Slice steak/shrimp and chop veggies in advance.
✔ Extra crispy veggies? Blanch broccoli/carrots first.
✔ Low-carb: Skip the honey and use sugar-free hoisin.


🌶️ Spice It Up!

  • Add red pepper flakes or extra sriracha.

  • Toss in sliced mushrooms or snap peas.
