A powerful, eco-friendly cleaner for sinks, countertops, and more! (But not for skin—see notes below.)
⚠️ Important Safety Note
This is a cleaning soap, not a body soap! Mixing vinegar + baking soda creates a fizzy reaction (water + carbon dioxide), leaving behind a mild sodium acetate solution. While great for cutting grease, it’s not moisturizing for skin.
📝 Ingredients
-
1 cup white vinegar (disinfects, deodorizes)
-
1 tbsp baking soda (scrubs gently)
-
1 cup warm water (dissolves baking soda)
-
1 cup liquid dish soap (degreases; use Castile soap for eco-friendly version)
-
Optional:
-
10 drops essential oil (tea tree, lemon, or lavender for fragrance + extra antibacterial power)
-
🧽 Instructions
1️⃣ Dissolve baking soda: Mix baking soda + warm water in a large bowl (it will fizz slightly).
2️⃣ Add vinegar: Slowly pour in vinegar (expect more fizz—this is normal!).
3️⃣ Stir in soap: Add dish soap and essential oils (if using). Whisk gently.
4️⃣ Store: Pour into a labeled spray bottle or squeeze bottle. Shake before use.
💡 Best Uses
✔ Kitchen: Degrease stovetops, sinks, and microwaves.
✔ Bathroom: Scrub soap scum and hard water stains.
✔ Floors: Dilute with water (1:1) for mopping.
❌ Avoid
-
Granite/marble (vinegar can etch stone).
-
Aluminum or cast iron (vinegar reacts with metal).
-
Skin (dish soap is too harsh for hands—wear gloves!).
🌟 Why It Works
✅ Vinegar dissolves mineral deposits.
✅ Baking soda neutralizes odors + scrubs.
✅ Dish soap cuts grease.
