Posted on July 1, 2025

A luxurious, restaurant-quality seafood dish with tender lobster, buttery scallops, and a rich garlic-herb sauce—ready in 20 minutes! Perfect for a special date night or indulgent dinner.

Ingredients

For the Seafood:

  • 2 lobster tails (6-8 oz each), split in half

  • 6-8 large sea scallops (pat dry, side muscle removed)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for depth)

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (or sub with seafood stock)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme *(or 1/2 tsp dried)*

  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

1. Prep the Seafood

  • Lobster: Butterfly tails by cutting through the top shell and meat (leave attached at the base).

  • Scallops: Pat very dry (for the best sear). Season both with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2. Sear the Scallops

  • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear scallops 2-3 mins per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

3. Cook the Lobster

  • In the same pan, add 1 tbsp olive oil and place lobster tails meat-side down. Sear 2 mins, then flip.

  • Baste with butter, cover, and cook 4-5 mins until opaque. Remove and set aside.

4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and thyme; sauté 1 min until fragrant.

  • Deglaze with white wine, simmering 2 mins. Stir in lemon juice, parsley, and pepper flakes.

5. Combine & Serve

  • Return scallops and lobster to the pan, spooning sauce over them. Warm through 1 min.

  • Garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges.

Serving Suggestions

🍝 Over pasta (toss with sauce for a decadent meal).
🥖 With crusty bread (to soak up the garlic butter).
🥗 Paired with a fresh salad (arugula or asparagus).

Pro Tips

🔥 Don’t overcrowd the pan (sear in batches if needed).
🍷 White wine substitute: Use chicken broth + 1 tsp vinegar.
💡 For extra richness: Add 1 tbsp heavy cream to the sauce.
