Optional:

  • Zest of lemon/orange

❓FAQs

1. Can I double the recipe?

Yes, just double all ingredients and use a larger pan (8-inch round or similar). Adjust baking time (35–40 mins, approx.).

2. Why is my cake dense or dry?

Common reasons:

  • Overmixing the batter
  • Overbaking
  • Not using room-temperature ingredients

Replace 2 tbsp of flour with 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder.

5. Can I bake it in a microwave?

Yes, if using a microwave-safe bowl:

  • Microwave for 3–4 minutes on high (check after 2½ mins).
  • Let rest for a few minutes before removing.

6. How long does it stay fresh?

Best eaten within 2 days. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
