Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

Tender, juicy chicken smothered in rich, savory gravy—all made effortlessly in your slow cooker!

This comfort-food classic requires just 5 minutes of prep and fills your home with irresistible aromas. Perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits!


Ingredients

*(Serves 4-6)*

For the Chicken:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 packet dry chicken gravy mix (0.87 oz)

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

For Serving:

  • Mashed potatoes or egg noodles

  • Fresh parsley (garnish)


Instructions

1. Prep the Slow Cooker

  1. Place chicken in the crockpot.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together both soups, gravy mix, broth, and seasonings. Pour over chicken.

2. Cook

  • Low heat: 6-7 hours

  • High heat: 3-4 hours
    (Chicken is done when tender and shreds easily.)

3. Thicken the Gravy (Optional)

  • Remove chicken and whisk in a slurry (2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water).

  • Return chicken to the pot and cook on High for 15-20 mins until gravy thickens.

4. Serve

  • Shred chicken or serve whole.

  • Spoon gravy over mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley.


Tips for the Best Chicken & Gravy

✔ Extra flavor? Add ½ cup sautéed mushrooms or onions.
✔ Creamier gravy? Stir in ¼ cup sour cream at the end.
✔ Lighter version? Use low-sodium soups and broth.
