✨ Perfectly Mini Doughnuts (Baked or Fried!) ✨

These bite-sized treats are easy to make and perfect for breakfast, parties, or a sweet snack. Choose between baked (healthier) or fried (classic crispy) versions!

🍩 Ingredients

For the Doughnuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg or cinnamon (optional for spice)

  • ½ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)

  • 1 large egg, room temp

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or vegetable oil)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Topping (Pick Your Fave!):

  • Cinnamon sugar: ¼ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar + 1-2 tbsp milk

  • Chocolate dip: ½ cup melted chocolate + 1 tsp coconut oil

🍳 Instructions

Option 1: Baked Mini Doughnuts

1️⃣ Prep:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini doughnut pan (or use a muffin tin for doughnut holes).
    2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.
    3️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients:

  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
    4️⃣ Combine:

  • Gently fold wet into dry until just mixed (don’t overwork!).
    5️⃣ Bake:

  • Pipe or spoon batter into the pan, filling ¾ full.

  • Bake 8-10 mins until springy. Cool 2 mins, then transfer to a rack.

Option 2: Fried Mini Doughnuts

1️⃣ Heat Oil:

  • Pour 2 inches of oil into a pot and heat to 350°F (175°C).
    2️⃣ Shape & Fry:

  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls or use a piping bag to form rings.

  • Fry 1-2 mins per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.

Finish & Serve:

  • Toss warm doughnuts in cinnamon sugar, dip in glaze, or drizzle with chocolate.

💡 Pro Tips

✅ Fluffy Texture: Don’t overmix—lumps are okay!
✅ No Doughnut Pan? Roll into balls for “doughnut holes.”
✅ Storage: Best eaten fresh, but keep in an airtight container for 1-2 days.

🌟 Fun Variations

  • Lemon Poppyseed: Add 1 tbsp lemon zest + 1 tsp poppy seeds.

  • Maple Bacon: Dip in maple glaze + crumbled bacon.

  • Churro Style: Coat in cinnamon sugar + caramel sauce.

Kids love decorating these! Set up a topping bar with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or coconut. 🎉
