Baked Shrimp in Garlic Butter Sauce 🍤

Succulent shrimp baked in a rich, garlicky butter sauce with a hint of lemon and herbs—ready in 20 minutes! Perfect with crusty bread, pasta, or over rice.

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 20 mins

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on or off)
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tbsp garlic paste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (about ½ lemon)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional, for brightness)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice)
  • ¼ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

(Optional add-ins: 2 tbsp white wine, ½ tsp smoked paprika, or Parmesan cheese)

Instructions

1. Prep the Shrimp:

  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and arrange in a single layer in a baking dish (or oven-safe skillet).

2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, zest, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • (For extra flavor, sauté garlic in butter for 1 min before mixing.)

3. Bake:

  • Pour sauce evenly over shrimp.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 mins until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  • Broil 1-2 mins for a golden top (optional).

4. Garnish & Serve:

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
  • Drizzle sauce over pasta, rice, or dip crusty bread into it!

Tips

✔ Don’t overcook—shrimp cook fast and become rubbery if baked too long.
✔ Fresh > frozen shrimp: Thaw frozen shrimp overnight in the fridge for best texture.
✔ Butter swap: Use olive oil for a lighter version (butter adds richness).

Serving Ideas

  • 🍝 Toss with linguine for garlic shrimp pasta.
  • 🥖 Pair with baguette to soak up the sauce.
  • 🥗 Serve over cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.

This dish is quick, elegant, and packed with flavor—ideal for weeknights or entertaining! Let me know if you’d like variations (spicy, creamy, etc.). 😊
