Ultimate Tomahawk Steak Dinner with Crispy Mozzarella Sticks & Spicy Dip

Tomahawk Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1 tomahawk steak (1.5–2 inches thick)

  • 2 tbsp high-heat oil (avocado, grapeseed, or vegetable)

  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme

Instructions:

  1. Prep: Pat steak dry, season generously with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temp for 30 mins.

  2. Sear: Heat oil in cast-iron skillet over high heat. Sear steak 2–3 mins per side until crust forms.

  3. Baste: Reduce heat, add butter, garlic, and herbs. Tilt pan and spoon butter over steak for 1–2 mins.

  4. Finish:

    • For medium-rare (135°F/57°C): Roast in preheated 400°F (200°C) oven for 5–7 mins.

    • For medium (145°F/63°C): Roast 8–10 mins.

  5. Rest: Transfer to a rack, tent with foil, and rest 10 mins before slicing.


Crispy Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 6–8 mozzarella sticks (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup flour

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Bread: Coat sticks in flour → egg → breadcrumbs + seasoning (double-coat for extra crunch).

  2. Freeze: Chill 30 mins to prevent melting.

  3. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry 2–3 mins until golden. Drain on paper towels.


Spicy Dipping Sauce

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (e.g., Sriracha)

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp honey

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Mix: Whisk all ingredients until smooth. Adjust heat to preference.


Presentation �

  1. Slice steak against the grain, fan on a board.

  2. Arrange mozzarella sticks alongside.

  3. Drizzle sauce or serve in a ramekin.

  4. Garnish with fresh herbs or microgreens.

Pair with: Roasted veggies, garlic mashed potatoes, or a bold red wine. 🍷
